The Big Bend Difference

At Big Bend Trailers we specialize in ranch trailers because that is what we use on a daily basis. We have over 50 years of ranching experience and have been building trailers for almost 20 years. We’ve worked hard to design a trailer that works well across a variety of operations and situations.

What Sets Us Apart

  • Our trailers are designed and tested by a rancher
  • The bottom frame is built with 2” X 4” rectangle tubing and is much stronger than the normal gooseneck that uses angle-iron or just have the side sheets bend down around the bottom of the trailer for their frame
  • The runners under the floor are 2” or 2.5” square tubing and are welded solid on all four sides into the frame instead of just being spot welded
  • We have a unique latching system for uncoupling the trailer from outside the truck bed (no more climbing over & around the truck bed to hookup and unhook)
  • Our rear and center gates have slam latches
  • We have an exclusive non-rusting gap design at the bottom of our trailers for easy clean out
  • Our wind resistant aerodynamic nose makes pulling these trailers a cinch
  • We make sure there are no exposed wires for brush country
  • We are constantly testing and innovating our trailers in real world ranching situations
  • We are the only steel livestock trailer that offers a floating center gate to modify compartment spaces based on what you are hauling
  • We are the only ranch trailer that offers the rear roller pin option
  • We customize. If you can come up with it, we will try to build it.

Practical Features on Every Trailer

Because our livelihood is ranching, we build trailers that have all of the features and durability we like to have on our own operation. We make many options standard on our trailers that are an up charge with other manufacturers.

Standard Features:

  • 3’ escape gate on passenger side
  • Swinging calf gates in nose
  • All center gates come with a sorting gate; center gates are supported when open or shut (not just bouncing up & down as you go over rough roads)
  • Dexter EZ Lube rubber torsion axles
  • 16" 10 ply (12 or 14 ply available) steel radial tires (load range E) with heavy duty 8 hole steel rims & lockable nose mounted spare
  • LED lights
  • Powder coat paint
  • Front bottom and front of brush fender has bed liner to prevent rocks from chipping paint
  • Latch to unhook trailer from outside the truck bed
  • 1.5” clean out gap
  • All gooseneck trailers 24' and shorter will come with a receiver hitch on the back so a chute or panel trailer can be pulled behind the trailer
  • Grease zerks on all hinges
